Cash for Junk Cars IncChicago Junk Car Buyers

Answers before you sell your car

What do people ask before selling a junk car to you?

Mostly three things: how they'll be paid, which papers they need, and whether we come to their part of the South Side. Chicago Junk Car Buyers pays at pickup in cash, Zelle or Cash App, checks papers on the call, and tows free across 14 Far South Side communities.

Money and offers

How do you pay for the car?

At pickup, in the way you choose: Zelle, Cash App or cash. You're paid when the car is loaded, before the truck leaves.

Do you charge for anything?

No. The tow is free and nothing is deducted from the offer for it. You're the one being paid.

How long is an offer good for?

Our offers don't expire. If you want to get a repair estimate or talk it over with family first, call us back when you're ready.

Is the offer negotiable?

The offer is our honest number for the car you described. If something we didn't know about adds value, like a newer engine or a set of aluminum wheels, tell us and we'll look at it again.

Your car and its papers

Will you take a car that still starts?

Yes, if they're at the end of their useful life, for example a car that runs but needs repairs worth more than it is. We buy them as junk, not to resell as used cars.

Will you buy a car with expired plates or registration?

Usually, yes. Expired registration doesn't stop a scrap sale, but we still need to see papers that show you can sell the car. Say which papers you've got, and the call settles whether they work.

Can I sell a car that still has a loan on it?

Tell us before anything else. A car with an open loan usually has a lien on the title, and the lender has to release it before the car can be sold. If the loan is paid off, a lien release from the lender helps.

What do I sign at pickup?

Usually the title, signed over as a sale, or the documents we agreed on the call. The driver shows you where to sign and checks your ID against the papers.

Where and when we pick up

Which parts of the South Side do you serve?

Fourteen community areas on Chicago's South Side, from West Pullman, Roseland and Pullman near our base to Beverly, Chatham and South Shore. See them all on the communities page.

Can you pick up late at night?

Our hours are 24 hours, every day. Whether a late pickup works depends on where the car is and that day's schedule, so ask when you call.

Can you pick up from a repair shop or a private tow lot?

Yes, once the car is released to you. Settle any bill you owe the shop or lot and let them know our driver is coming on your behalf.
